E-rate Entity Numbers Posted to Web
Message Posted January 13, 2000
Today, the SLD finally provided each state with a list of their schools'
entity numbers. As many of you know, with the new E-rate 471, every
building must list an entity number. Although this information may have
come too late for many applicants, it should be of great assistance to any
medium or large applicants, especially intermediate units, in identifying
entity numbers for the schools within their school districts as well as the
entity number for the school district itself.
The data is on the PA E-rate web site at
http://www.pde.psu.edu/usf/index.html at the top of the page under "Year 3
Entity Numbers" and is divided into five alphabetical sections to make your
district easier to find.
The SLD wants us to remind you that the data only represents a listing of
the schools in their database that they show as being associated with the named school
district. In order to calculate your discounts, you will need to choose the
schools from this list that are receiving the services identified in each
Block 5 as well as any other schools, which may not show up on this list,
that are receiving the services.
If you have a school that is not on the list, call the SLD at 888-203-8100
to have an entity number assigned to that school, and include it on your
application.
Because of the new "select all" feature in the online 471 application, the
entity number data will primarily aid those who are filing manually. (See
information in yesterday's e-mail or on the SLD web site for a "select all"
function that will ease the entity number identification for on-line filers.)
Hopefully this information will still prove useful in your application
efforts.
